Chairperson 

The Education University of Hong Kong

Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, President and Chair Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, joined The Education University of Hong Kong (the then Hong Kong Institute of Education) in 2010. He was Vice President (Academic) from 2010 to 2019, and Vice President (Academic) and Provost from 2019 to 2023. Professor Lee was previously Dean of Education and a Professor at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He was also the Director of the Centre for University and School Partnership and served as a Fellow of United College and Morningside College at CUHK. Professor Lee was a recipient of The Vice-Chancellor’s Exemplary Teaching Award 1999 at CUHK. Before that, he worked as a secondary school teacher and as a Lecturer in the Sir Robert Black College of Education.

Dr Maxwell Ho is a dedicated educator with a focus on teacher entrepreneurialism, entrepreneurship education, and financial literacy. He graduated with first-class honours in Bachelor of Education (Business Studies) from the Education University of Hong Kong in 2008. Quickly rising through the ranks, he became head of technology education (KLA) and administration group. His innovative curriculum earned him the Teacher Award for Business and Financial Education in 2016. As a Research Fellow at EdUHK, Maxwell has contributed significantly to leadership and educational practice research, earning the Emerald Publishing Award in 2020. He is also the President of the Hong Kong Association of Business Education and has trained over 400 school leaders.

Dr. Patrick Yun is the Executive Co-Director of the Institute of Professional and Vocational Education and Lifelong Learning at the Education University of Hong Kong, where he also leads the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Professional and Vocational Education) and the Bachelor of Education (Professional and Vocational Education) programmes. 

With extensive teaching experience in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, Dr. Yun has received numerous accolades for his commitment to teaching excellence and educational leadership. His expertise spans professional and vocational education (PVE), education technologies, business entrepreneurship, and strategic leadership. He has developed programmes and curricula for PVE, education technologies, and teacher professional development, emphasizing innovative teaching approaches and 21st-century skills. 

Dr. Yun also serves as an advisor to tertiary education institutes, a board member of Education Bureau assessment panels and professional bodies, a reviewer for international academic journals, and a manager for local schools. He is actively engaged with NGOs, supervising and supporting professional and youth development initiatives.

Dr Chrysa Keung, Associate Director of the Institute of Professional and Vocational Education and Lifelong Learning (IPVELL) and Assistant Professor in the Department of Education Policy and Leadership (EPL) at EdUHK. Her research interests include sociology of work, employability, professional ethics, and design-based learning.

Dr. Kwok Kuen Tsang is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Education Policy and Leadership at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). Before joining the EdUHK, Dr. Tsang was an Associate Professor and Associate Dean of the College of Education Administration at Beijing Normal University, a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and an Assistant Professor at Caritas Institute of Higher Education, respectively. He is a member of the editorial advisory board of the British Journal of Sociology of Education and an Associate Editor of the Beijing International Review of Education. His research covers teachers' work and emotions, education policy and governance, and school leadership.

The Education University of Hong Kong

Dr. HO Yan Lam is a Post-doctoral Fellow in the Academy for Educational Development and Innovation at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). She completed the Doctor of Education (EdD) in Early Childhood Education. Her dissertation portfolio explores the music pedagogical practices in Hong Kong kindergartens. She holds a Master of Arts in Music Education (MAME) with distinction and dean's honour list, and a Bachelor of Education (Music).  

 

Dr. HO is interested in music education, music psychology, music pedagogical practices, and teacher professional development in early childhood. Her work has been published in mainstream education journals, such as Research Studies in Music Education and Australasian Journal of Early Childhood. She has given presentations at various international and local conferences in education. Dr. HO is a member of the International Society for Music Education. She also provided academic services such as serving as a Session Chair and Moderator at conferences.
